Superior Performance
Chris Ruddock

Chris began her bowling career in youth leagues.  In April of 1984, at the age of 17, Chris was the first junior bowler in Springfield to bowl a 700 Series which was a 712 (233, 247 and 232).  This accomplishment earned her the honor of being the highest scoring Junior in the State and first to top a 700 Series.  This 700 also earned her the honor of being one of the top 10 in her division nationally and the youngest female in Springfield to ever bowl a 700.

She began her adult career during the 1984/1985 season.  She placed 3rd in the Round the Town tournament and won the Scratch and Handicap Doubles Title in the Local Association Tournament with Chris Wiley.  Their score was a 1355 scratch and a 1403 with handicap, which  was the highest scratch and handicap scores bowled in the tournament at that point.  Chris also won the Scratch Singles and All Events title with a 649 and a 1874 consecutively.

After this season she managed to win four more Local Association tournament titles.  She won the Doubles Scratch title with Chris Wiley again in 1985 and won the Doubles Scratch Title with Debbie Klasing in 1987.  In 1988 she won the Scratch and Handicap Singles title with a 706.

During the 1987/1988 season, Chris was the second woman in the Springfield WBA history to bowl a 300 game and the first woman in Springfield WBA history to bowl an 800 series. Her series was 825 with games of 300, 256 and 268 and her 4th game being a 246 for 1071 four game series.

Chris made her first appearance on the All Star Team as Captain for the 1984/1985 season.  After that she was a member of the All Star Team a total of 6 times, two of those times as Captain of the All Star Team.

Her highest average during her career was a 204 and she accomplished several other outstanding bowling achievements.  She won the Round the Town Tournament during the 1993/1994 season as well as placed in the top 5 several times.

As you can see, Chris has earned several honors during her career and achieved great things.  This is why we are pleased to induct Chris Ruddock in the Springfield USBC WBA Hall of Fame under the category of Superior Performance. Congratulations to Chris Ruddock.
