Welcome to the Springfield USBC WBA web site. We'd like you to learn more about what our members in Springfield are offered in the bowling world.  You'll find lots of things to interest you. Bowling is fun, and whether you enjoy competition or just family fun, you get both when joining the association.


ANNOUNCEMENTS OF INTEREST

 
  • All Tournament Entry Forms for the 2008-2009 Season that we have access to at this time are on the Tournament Page and also on the Forms Page to be downloaded in PDF format. If you don't have Adobe Acrobat to open PDF formats, we have a download icon on the Forms Page. 600 Club Tournaments are on the 600 Club page and on the Forms page.
     
  • The Hall of Fame Dinner and Dance - Saturday, October 11, 2008 - Northfield Center
    3210 Northfield Drive - Springfield, IL  at 6:30 pm cash bar, dinner at 7:00 pm.
  • The Association has some State Tournament shirts and pins to sell. Please contact Lisa Bumgardner (496-3949) or Melinda Calvert (753-1857) to order. They will get the shirts to you. Click here for details on what is available. Shirts & Pins
     
  • Melinda Calvert is the Association Manager (Secretary) of the Springfield USBC WBA and she is the one to contact in regard to the Association.  She may be reached at 753-1857 and she will be happy to take care of any business that you have. 
     
  • General Information for Team Captains: When filling out tournament entry blanks, most of them ask for your Association number. Springfield Assn. number is 84311.
  • The State Journal-Register Bowler Information PDF Sheet is available for download from the Forms Page. 
     
  • Due to all the spam we are getting on the Guest Book page, items will not be automatically posted. If you have anything that you would like posted, ie:comments, tournament info, etc., please send them to me directly at swbabowl@sbcglobal.net, and I will post them manually. Thank you for your help.

MEMBERSHIP

When you pay your dues through a league, you become a member of the USBC, Illinois USBC  Bowling Association and the Springfield USBC Bowling Association.  That's right, three organizations with just a minimal fee!  You also belong to the largest female sports organization in the world!

When you join the Springfield USBC WBA, you are entitled to help decide how your association will be run. Attending the annual membership meeting held the last Sunday in March allows you to elect the officers and directors that govern your association. You may want to attend National or State conventions as a delegate, or just have a say in how the association allocates funds.

Springfield USBC WBA AWARDS

The Springfield USBC WBA offers awards and recognition to our members. Below are the league awards offered by the Springfield USBC WBA.

High Game (1st, 2nd, 3rd)
The Springfield USBC WBA will award medals for the first, second and third high individual game rolled by a member of the Springfield USBC WBA and no one individual may qualify more than once in each category. Awards to be based on issuance of new season's USBC cards.
High Series (1st, 2nd, 3rd)
The Springfieold USBC WBA will award medals for the first, second and third high three-game series rolled by a member of the Springfield USBC WBA and no one individual may qualify more than once in each category. Awards to be based on issuance of new season's USBC cards.
300 Game and/or 800 Series
The Springfield USBC WBA will present a special recognition award to those members bowling a 300 game and/or 800 series. One per member per season per category.
Clean Sweep
The Springfield USBC WBA offers an award for a clean sweep - every frame must be filled all three games, including the 10th frames. One per member per season per category.   
Clean Game
The Springfield USBC WBA offers an award for a clean game. - every frame must be filled, including the 10th frame.
 One per member per season per category.
50 Pins Over Average
The Springfield USBC WBA offers an award for 50 pins over average,. If you bowled last year, that average will be used until you have 21 games in the current season.
One per member per season per category.
Progressive
The Springfield USBC WBA offers an award for an increase in every game by the same number of pins. Examples - 96-97-98, 110-120-130 or 114-118-122, etc. One per member per season per category.
Sour Apple
The Springfield USBC WBA offers this award for leaving the 5-7-10 split. One per member per season per category. One per member per season per category.

In case of a tie, duplicate medals will be awarded. Games must be rolled in Springfield USBC WBA certified leagues and Springfield USBC WBA Championship Tournament on properly scheduled lanes with a foul judge or approved automatic foul detecting device. These games or series to be reported to the Springfield USBC WBA Secretary by the league secretaries. Some awards are presented at the Annual Hall of Fame Dinner/Dance.
